The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents convened in special session at 7:50 a.m. on November 17, 1998, at the Anderson Campus of Central Kentucky Technical College in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Chair Johnson presided over the meeting. The news media were notified on November 10, 1998.

ROLL CALL The following members were present: Mr. Banks, Mr. Bean, Ms. Fiorella, Dr. Hanel, Mr. Hoseus, Ms. Hoskins, Ms. Johnson, Ms. Littrell, Mr. McCool, Mr. Powell, Ms. Read, Ms. Williams. Mr. Lichtenberg and Mr. Russow did not attend.

EXECUTIVE SESSION  At 7:55 a.m. Chair Johnson accepted a motion that passed unanimously to take the meeting into executive session for discussion of individual personnel matters.

REGULAR SESSION At 6:15 p.m. the Board returned to open session.

MOTION: Mr. Bean moved that the Chair or her designee be empowered to enter negotiations with the first candidate of the list of three presented to the Board by the Presidential Search Committee, with the goal of agreement on terms of an employment contract for President of KCTCS. The Chair or her designee is to move to the second candidate for negotiations only if the first candidate on the list rejects the final terms offered. The Board Chair shall bring forward the successful candidate for appointment at the earliest convenient time. Mr. McCool seconded the motion.

VOTE: The motion passed unanimously by voice vote.

ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
