Governor Fletcher Names Tony Goetz Legislative Liaison to the Senate
Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today that Tony Goetz will serve as the Fletcher/Pence administration's Legislative Liaison to the Senate. Goetz has worked for the University of Kentucky as Director of Government Relations since August of 2003 and previously served in various capacities including Associate Dean for Administration and Finance and Associate Dean for Community Development.
"I am proud and honored to serve Governor Fletcher and Lieutenant Governor Pence as their legislative liaison to the Senate," stated Tony Goetz. "I have a great deal of experience in working with many of our state legislators and I look forward to the opportunity of representing the Fletcher/Pence administration in this capacity."
Tony Goetz is a native of Owensboro, KY and presently resides in Jessamine County. Goetz was employed in the field of mental retardation for a number of years, having worked for the Owensboro Council for Retarded Children and the Blue Grass Association for Mental Retardation. In 1973, Goetz was appointed Executive Director of the Bluegrass Regional Health Planning Council, a position he retained until his employment in 1976 as the Executive Director of the East Kentucky Health Systems Agency. In July of 1980, he was appointed Associate Dean for Planning at the University of Kentucky and also served as Director of the University of Kentucky Area Health Education Center Program.
