Governor Ernie Fletcher Appoints Four to the Kentucky Board of Education

Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher today announced four appointees to the Kentucky School Board of Education. The appointees include Dr. Janna Vice of Richmond, Bonnie Freeman of Louisville, David Webb of Brownsville, and David Rhodes of Mount Sterling. These appointees bring with them over 90 years of combined experience in the classroom and the boardroom.

  • Dr. Janna Vice, Richmond
    • Associate Dean, College of Business and Technology, and Professor of Corporate Communication and Training, Eastern Kentucky University
    • Named Kentucky's Outstanding Business Teacher, 1999, by the Kentucky Business Education Association
    • Daughter of a Whitley County schoolteacher who taught in a one room schoolhouse
  • Bonnie Freeman , Louisville
    • Director of Special Projects/Training at the National Center for Family Literacy, Louisville
    • Led the Head Start Family Literacy Project, 1999-2002
  • David Webb , Brownsville
    • Retired Superintendent of Edmonson and Logan County Schools
    • Former mathematics schoolteacher in Edmonson and Warren County schools
  • David Rhodes , Mount Sterling
    • Veteran Member of the Montgomery County Board of Education
