Governor Fletcher appoints Chairperson to Commission
Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today the appointment of three women to Kentucky Commission on Women. Governor Fletcher made these announcements today during the unveiling of the Kentucky Women Remembered portraits.
Among the women the Governor appointed are Sarah Blanken Kahmann, who will serve as the Chairperson of the Commission. Kahmann has been a member of the Commission since 1997 and has served two consecutive terms. Governor Fletcher also announced the Co-Chairperson, Pat Friebert of Lexington. Friebert is a former state representative from Lexington. Friebert also served on the Governor's personnel transition team. Martie Wiles, a small business owner from Hazard, Kentucky, is the third appointment the Governor made to Kentucky Commission on Women. Moore is a member of several boards in her community and shows great leadership in her endeavors.
First Lady Glenna Fletcher will also serve as an ex officio member of the Commission.

solid values," stated Governor Ernie Fletcher.
"I am confident that through their terms with Kentucky Commission
on Women, they will be able to make a tremendous difference
for all women in this great commonwealth."
The Governor also announced today that a new Executive Director for the Commission on Women will be brought on board in the next several weeks. In addition, a permanent residence for the Commission will be made public in the near future.
The three new appointees join four other women the Governor had previously appointed to the Commission. Alois Moore, Kathleen Hardy, Wilee Cooper, and Sherri Craig were announced in January.
