"I am deeply saddened by the death of former President Ronald Reagan," stated Governor Fletcher.  "The President was one of our nation's greatest leaders. Ronald Reagan changed the course of American History.  His bold initatives and progressive leadership during times of difficulty and great triumph charted a course of economic stability at home while restoring respect to our nation abroad.  President Reagan will long be remembered for his courage and statesmanship as one of the greatest Presidents in our nation's history."

Governor Fletcher went on to say "out of respect for President Reagan, I have ordered all flags outside state facilities throughout the Commonwealth to be lowered to half-staff."
