The funding comes from the Farmers’ Market Competitive Grant program.

Tuesday, July 18, 2006 Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announced today that $810,000 in KYTC bond funds have been awarded to Paintsville and Johnson County. Chief of Staff Stan Cave represented the Governor and presented ceremonial checks to local officials during an event at the Country Music Museum in Paintsville this afternoon.

Tuesday, July 18, 2006 Governor Ernie Fletcher visited Frenchburg today to present two ceremonial checks totaling $1 million in Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Frenchburg/Menifee County Economic Development/Training Center. The two grants, for $500,000 each, will enable the city of Frenchburg to construct an economic development/training facility to promote both educational and job-related activities.

The American Energy Security Study presents a comprehensive plan for United States energy security through the production of ultra-clean liquid transportation fuels from domestic resources, and sets an aggressive timeline for achieving energy independence by 2030.
