Breathitt
County Judicial Center Dedication:
Governor Fletcher joined Chief Justice Joseph Lambert, County Judge
Executive Lewis H. Warrix, Senator Johnny Ray Turner, Representative
Teddy Edmonds, and other local dignitaries on Tuesday, September
27, for the dedication of the new Breathitt County Judical Center
in Jackson. Prior to the dedication, Governor Fletcher stopped to
visit with residents at the local Family Diner restaurant. (September

Hazard High School
Visit:
Governor Fletcher visited Hazard High School on Wednesday, September
21, to congratulate school officials and students for exceeding
their CATS testing improvement goal by 11 points. The school received
the 10th highest test score of all high schools in the state. (September
21, 2005)
Storage Tank Dedication:
Governor Ernie Fletcher joined Marathan Petroleum Company officials
and other state and local leaders Thursday, September 22, to dedicate
a new "Kentucky Unbridled Spirit" mural that has been painted on
a large crude oil tank near I-64 and U.S. 23 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky.
The 6.3 million gallon tank mural is clearly visible to drivers
as they cross the West Virginia border into Kentucky. (September

Hurricane
Katrina Troop Mobilization:
Governor Ernie Fletcher and Adjutant General Donald C. Storm spoke
with troops from the Kentucky National Guard Friday morning, September
2, as they prepared to travel to the flood-ravaged areas of Mississippi,
Alabama and Louisiana to assist in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
The convoy is commanded by Major Ruth Graves and included 150 National
Guard soldiers who will serve as a truck company in support of the
recovery mission, transporting essential materials and supplies
to residents in the disaster-stricken region. (September 2, 2005)

Ceremony:
Governor Fletcher inducted the 2005 Eastern Kentucky University
Governor's Scholars into the Governor's Scholars Program Alumni
Association on Friday, July 29, encouraging Kentucky's best and
brightest to keep learning, keep exploring, and keep discovering.

Supreme
Court:
Governor Fletcher announced the selection of John Roach to fill
the unexpired term of state Supreme Court Justice James Keller,
who resigned at the end of May. Roach, who served most recently
as General Counsel in the Office of the Governor, joined Fletcher
for the announcement at the Kentucky Bar Association meeting in
Louisville. (June 10, 2005)
Bush in Hopkinsville
Governor Fletcher greeted President Bush upon his arrival at Fort
Campbell on Thursday, June 2. That afternoon, the president held
a forum in Hopkinsville as part of his nationwide tour to build
support for Social Security. (June 2, 2005)
Derby Day 2005:
Governor Fletcher celebrated the 131st running of the Kentucky Derby
at festivities in Frankfort and Louisville. (May 2005)

Governor Ernie Fletcher and First Lady Glenna Fletcher celebrated

Laurel Festival:
Governor Ernie Fletcher and First Lady Glenna Fletcher participated
in festivities at the Mountain Laurel Festival on Saturday, May
28.
Governor Fletcher testifying on Capitol Hill:
Governor Fletcher testified before the U.S. Senate committee on
Health, Education, Labor & Pensions on Thursday, April 14, 2005.
He joined Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius and several former colleagues
from the U.S. House of Representatives who now serve as senators.
