Russell Springs Attorney Selected to Fill 40th Judicial District Vacancy
Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today the appointment of Robyn Williams to the office of District Judge for the 40th Judicial District, Division 1, of Kentucky. The District includes Russell, Clinton and Wayne Counties.
Williams, who is a resident of Russell Springs, currently serves as the Domestic Relations Commissioner and Master Commissioner for Russell County. As Domestic Commissioner, Williams held hearings on all domestic matters in the Russell Circuit Court and made recommendations and reports to the Circuit Judge. As Master Commissioner, she was responsible for all judicial sales in Russell County. Williams is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law.
The Judicial Nominating Committee, which is chaired by Kentucky Supreme Court Chief Justice Joseph Lambert, submitted Mrs. Williams' name for the appointment. The committee is required to submit three names to the governor for the appointment. However, Mrs. Williams was the only person to apply for the vacant judgeship.
