Personnel Cabinet Secretary encourages: "Don't delay…enroll today!"

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Open Enrollment for members of the 2005 Public Employees Health Insurance Program will be October 25 through November 5, Personnel Cabinet Secretary Robert Ramsey announced today.

"The message that is important for members to keep in mind is this – don't delay…enroll today," said Secretary Ramsey.

The new enrollment dates were announced just after Governor Ernie Fletcher signed House Bill 1 into law. HB1 appropriates nearly $200 million additional dollars to the 2005 State Employee Health Insurance Plan. On October 4, 2004, Governor Fletcher called a special session of the legislature to work toward a bipartisan solution to the health insurance crisis inherited by this administration.

Details on the 2005 plan will be posted on the Personnel Cabinet's Web site no later than October 21, 2004. The Personnel Cabinet's Web site can be found at http://personnel.ky.gov.
