Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher has been given a clean bill of health by his family physician.  The Governor's cholesterol level, blood pressure and general well being are all excellent according to Dr. James D. B. George of Bluegrass Medical Associates in Lexington.

"I'm happy to report that everything looks perfect.  Governor Fletcher appears to be in great shape," said Dr. George.

Governor Fletcher notes that preventative care and screening are important in every middle-aged Kentuckian's effort to stay healthy.

Being a doctor, Governor Fletcher also recognizes that a colonoscopy is a valuable health screening tool for early diagnosis of colon cancer for individuals with a positive family history.  Accordingly, the Governor will undergo this preventative care procedure on Thursday, December 23rd.  Governor Fletcher will temporarily transfer gubernatorial power to Lieutenant Governor Steve Pence as the routine procedure involves sedation.
