Frankfort, KY: Kentucky's new brand, "Unbridled Spirit," has become a popular gift idea for the holiday season, while contributing money to the state's pocket book.  In just a few short weeks, the brand's merchandise, which includes hats, shirts and bumper stickers, has generated nearly $7,000 in sales.  Orders for the brand paraphernalia have been placed online from all 50 states and across the world.

"The sale of Unbridled Spirit Merchandise has been very encouraging," said Governor Ernie Fletcher. "Clearly, people all across the nation and world want to be a part of Kentucky's new brand and new way of thinking."  The Governor himself has been seen proudly displaying the brand on his jacket, hat, car, and even on his suits.

During the annual University of Kentucky/University of Louisville basketball game, an Unbridled Spirit hat and shirt were worn by college basketball icon Dick Vitale.  Vitale complimented the new brand on ESPN's television broadcast while wearing his Unbridled Spirit hat, hand delivered by Governor Fletcher.

Kentucky's new brand also is being spread all across the nation by thousands of motorists.  "Our state's Welcome Centers staff members have received numerous encouraging comments and requests to carry Kentucky's message on their personal vehicles as they travel this holiday season," Governor Fletcher added.

All orders that have been filled for hats, shirts and parks gift certificates also have received a free bumper sticker.  More than 5500 additional bumper stickers have been requested online and through mail during the "Great Bumper Sticker Giveaway."

According to Governor Fletcher, the state will expand the number of merchandise options available with "Unbridled Spirit" in the new future.  The state is also working to bring Unbridled Spirit merchandise to retail stores across the state.

"This will make the brand available to even more of the Commonwealth's citizens and guests," said Governor Fletcher.
