Governor Fletcher names Transportation Cabinet Director of Public Affairs Doug Hogan as Governor's Communications Director

Frankfort, KY:    Governor Ernie Fletcher today announced Doug Hogan as his new Communications Director.  Hogan joined the administration as Director of Public Affairs for the Transportation Cabinet on March 8, 2004.

Hogan has an extensive background in television news.  Prior to joining Governor Fletcher's administration, he was an executive director at WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He also served as a news director at TV stations in Alabama and Indiana.  Hogan's other broadcast experience includes reporter, anchor, and producer positions in various markets in the South and Midwest.

Hogan also has experience working in state government.  He served as the Communications Director for the Kentucky Senate Majority from 2001-2002.  He was instrumental in various issues including telemarketing, the elimination of taxpayer dollars used to finance gubernatorial campaigns, and redistricting.

Doug Hogan is a native of Burkesville, Kentucky.  He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Western Kentucky University.  Hogan currently lives in Burlington, Kentucky, with his wife Lana and their two children, Lauren (age 8) and Jacob (age 7 months).
