Dr. Christopher Babcock Appointed by Governor Fletcher

Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today the appointment of Dr. Christopher Babcock to the Kentucky Board of Dentistry. The purpose of the Kentucky Board of Dentistry (Board) is to protect the public by statutes and regulations of the practice of dentists and dental hygienists. Functions of the Board include licensing and renewal of licenses for dentists and hygienists. The Board also registers dental laboratories and dental laboratory technicians for all laboratories doing business with Kentucky Dentists.

Dr. Babcock of Louisville is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with the Kentuckiana Oral Surgery Associates. Dr. Babcock received his D.M.D. and M.D. from the University of Louisville.

The Kentucky Board of Dentistry consists of nine members, each appointed by the Governor. Among its other functions, the Board also administers the Dental Practice Act, which involves investigations of the public's complaints against dentists and hygienists.
