EMILY ROBINSON DOWNEY (unknown, 22nd First Lady) daughter of James Fisher Robinson, served as hostess for her father while he was governor because her mother died in 1861. The day before the resignation of Governor Magoffin, James Robinson was elected Speaker of the Senate so that he could become governor. At the end of Governor Robinson’s term, the family returned to “Cardome,” their home in Georgetown.
