One of Governor Patton’s responsibilities of office is to appoint citizens from across Kentucky to more than 300 state boards and commissions. Some of these boards and commissions set standards of professional practice for occupations, others promote social and cultural awareness, and still others act as advisory groups to state agencies and programs. Members meet periodically throughout the year and serve terms of varying lengths. The Kentucky Commission on Women has compiled a Directory of Kentucky State Boards and Commissions. This directory lists each of these groups, detailing the group’s purpose and terms of office for appointed members. (The Adobe Acrobat Reader is used to view and print PDF files. It is free and can be downloaded ) If you have any questions regarding Kentucky’s appointed positions, contact Bill Beam, Jr., Director of Boards and Commissions. (Click on name to send e-mail, or call (502)564-2611.) If you are interested in applying for a board, print out the appropriate form and return it to the address or fax number listed on the form or fill out the form online and submit it.
