FACT SHEET: Governor’s 2002 Derby Breakfast

FRANKFORT, KY. -- Food items for the Governor's 2002 Derby Breakfast will be served differently from years past. Unlike a buffet-style, sit-down breakfast, Saturday’s event will be picnic-style.

Guests will be served from two tents -- one located on the Old State Capitol grounds; the other at the old train depot in downtown Frankfort. Each guest will receive a paper bag printed with the official Derby Breakfast logo.

The bag will contain an apple or an orange, a muffin (apple or blueberry), and a country ham croissant. An English muffin with egg, cheese and Canadian bacon will be served hot. Juices, coffee and water will be served from a separate table.

In addition to the excellent food, the breakfast will offer plenty of music, as well as Kentucky crafts displayed along the streets and sidewalks of downtown Frankfort. The event is open to the public.

Fresh whole fruit:   15,000
