Gov. Paul Patton listened as Mrs.
Eugene Neal of Carlisle
told him about the 1923 Ford Model "T" that she and her husband
bought decades ago at Paul Miller Ford in Lexington. The antique automobile is one of
several exhibits already in place at the Eugene and Dorothy Neal Museum, Arts and
Welcome Center in downtown Carlisle, the seat of Nicholas County. Mrs. Neal and her husband at one
time were owners of the 120-year-old store building where the museum and arts
center are located. In addition to
the museum, Carlisle
community leaders hope to restore Mozart Hall, a community hall and theater on
the second floor of the building.
Gov.
Patton's visit to Carlisle
was one of several he made to Northern Bluegrass
area communities on October 3.
