Governor Paul Patton and First Lady Judi Patton will hold a news conference on Tuesday, September 2nd, to raise awareness of the problem of sexual assault. The location is the Capitol Rotunda, at 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The Pattons will be joined by student representatives from the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky, who will place emphasis on the incidence of "date rape" on college campuses.
Representatives of the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs will join the Pattons as September is designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Kentucky.
The news conference is part of the Pattons' statewide effort to help Kentuckians avoid becoming victims of sexual violence, and to encourage those who are victimized to reach out for assistance.
