Goldsmith
to replace Haynes in Kentucky’s DC office
FRANKFORT, KY - Governor Paul Patton
today announced that Kevin Goldsmith will replace Audrey Haynes as Director of
Kentucky’s Washington D.C. office. Governor Patton created the office in July
2001in order to forward the state’s federal agenda.
Goldsmith, a former staff member in Patton’s
office, is leaving the consulting firm of Goldsmith, Ratliff and Shoop. In his
new position, Goldsmith will continue the Kentucky office’s work with the
Washington DC-based firm of Barbour, Griffith and Rogers, which boasts strong
ties to the Bush administration and the Kentucky congressional delegation.
Additionally, he will assist Patton in his role as Chair of the National
Governors Association.
A Louisville-native, Goldsmith graduated from the
University of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in communications and worked
in Lt. Gov. Patton’s office before becoming Director of Intergovernmental
Affairs when Patton took office in 1995.
Haynes, who started in the state’s D.C. office
August 2001, will leave Aug. 1 to become the National Director of Governmental
Relations for the YMCA. Haynes, Frankfort, distinguished service includes work
in both the Clinton administration in Washington and the Patton administration
in Frankfort.
