Governor Paul Patton has notified all state offices to lower flags to half-staff on September 11 in memory of those who died in the terrorist attacks and in accordance with a Presidential proclamation that designates the date as Patriot Day.

“The events of 2001 are still clear in our minds two years later.  As we move on, we pause to remember those who lost their lives and their family and friends who strive to move on,” Patton said.  “We join the rest of the nation in observing a moment of silence Thursday morning at 8:46 to remember those that were lost in those horrific events.”
